History

In the belatedly fifties, the Government of Republic of india decided to plant Regional Applied science Colleges (RECs) nether the Quality Technical Didactics Policy-i each in every major state-with the prime number objectives of imparting quality technical education throughout the country and fostering national integration. The Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) program was started with iii branches of technology namely, Ceremonious Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electric Applied science. Considering the success in achieving the objective of ensuring a promising carrier of the students of the to a higher place disciplines, inspired the committee to come up with new branches which led to the foundation of Electronics and Advice Section in 1983 with the initial intake of 20 students in under graduate (UG) program. Later on, due to successful completions of several batches, the strength of the department increased to 30 in 1988-89, xl in 2005-06, 60 in 2006-07, 92 in 2008-09 and finally a total of 120 students in 2013-14. In 2013-14, the section bagged NBA accreditation for v years for UG program and became 2d NIT in India whose department of ECE has accomplished this accreditation. Continuing with the successful route map, the department started its first post graduate (PG) program in Microelectronics and VLSI Design in 2007-08 with an initial intake of 13 students whose strength increased to 20 in 2008-09. Just later on, in order to come up with a new specialization in PG program with the existing facilities, the number of intake was scaled down to 10 in 2014-15. In 2013-fourteen, the section came up with a new PG program in Communication and Betoken processing engineering science.
